“I am not a terrorist!” – JDT owner Tunku Ismail makes wiretapping allegation

“I have never killed anyone except for Malaysian football.”

That’s Tunku Ismail’s classic comment when it comes to issuing a response towards key individuals within the Malaysian football fraternity that criticize him. However this time around, the comment was issued under the context of a bigger issue – Tunku claims that his phone is being wire-tapped.

The JDT owner claims that the Special Branch is monitoring his movements closely and that the Royal Malaysian Police’ Headquarters in Bukit Aman have opened a file on him as well as his father, Sultan Ibrahim.

“I don’t understand why my phone is bugged. I don’t understand why my movements are monitored by the Special Branch,” he said on the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page.

“Why do they need a file about me or my father in Bukit Aman? I’m a leader who cares for my people. I am not a terrorist. I have never killed anyone except for Malaysian football.”

Tunku Ismail also went on to reject claims of JDT having a significant advantage over PKNS, considering their fanbase is substantially bigger than the Red Ants, ahead of the FA Cup Final clash this weekend.

“PKNS defeated Perak with very little fans. When JDT beat South China in Hong Kong, it was with even lesser fans. So that doesn’t really make a difference.

“Being in the final is already an achievement. If we win, good. If we lose, we will try again next time,” he proclaimed.

Johor DT’s FA Cup final bout against PKNS is scheduled to take at the Shah Alam Stadium this Saturday, with kick-off slated for 8.45 PM.
