“I am ready to make the XI” – Azrif Nasrulhaq on Harimau Malaysia hopes

Selangor right-sided player Azrif Nasrulhaq Badrul Hisham will be looking to make the most out of R. Gopinathan and Matthew Davies’ injury and feature for the Harimau Malaysia team.

Azrif, 25, who can play as a right-back or as a right winger, is likely to play an important role in the friendly match against Myanmar in Yangon on Saturday before facing Timor-Leste in the 2019 Asian Cup play-off match on June 2 and 6 at the Larkin Stadium in Johor Bahru.

“I have trained with the national squad for a few days now and I am ready to be a part of Datuk Ong Kim Swee’s plans for the upcoming games,” he said as quoted by Harian Metro.

“Matt may be injured but that does not mean only two people can play in one specific position. I will prove to everyone that I am capable of playing at the highest level.”

Johor Darul Ta’azim’s (JDT) Mahali Jasuli and S. Kunanlan are the other two players that have the ability to play as a right-back or even as a winger on the right flank.

Azrif Nasrulhaq may have just joined the fray of action amongst the national team but he produced two good performances against Saudi Arabia and Macau last month.
