“Goh Jin Wei is on her way to becoming World No.1” — BAM’s Morten Frost

Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) technical director Morten Frost Hansen believes that Goh Jin Wei will only need a few years to become one of the best players in the world.

The statement was made by the man from Denmark after the Penang-born athlete defeated Tee Jing Yi to clinch the Celcom Axiata National Circuit (first leg) in Bukit Kiara on Saturday.

“She (Jin Wei) has been showing an extraordinary amount of improvement lately and her world ranking will bound to increase soon, “Morten Hansen said as quoted by Berita Harian.

“I believe she will be among the top ten players in the world in two or three years.”

Goh Jin Wei is currently ranked 59th in the world and it would not be difficult for her to climb up the standings especially after putting up a valiant display against world No. 1 Carolina Marin of Spain in the group stages of the Uber Cup in Kunshan, China a few weeks ago.
