Azrif Nasrulhaq set for JDT debut against PDRM

Johor Darul Ta’zim’s (JDT) latest acquisition, Azrif Nasrulhaq might make his first appearance for the Southern Tigers against PDRM in their Malaysia Cup group C fixture at the Hang Jebat Stadium, Melaka tonight.

JDT coach, Mario Gomez said Azrif might be deployed as a left-back or right-back to replace either Fazly Mazlan or S. Kunanlan.

He also added that the 25-year-old defender can play on both flanks and there won’t be issues fielding him against Fauzi Pilus’ side.

“We have not clinched a victory after the draw with PKNS in our first match and this fixture will be extremely important for us to get three points, even though we are away from home.

“With that said, we will still perform to our best and I’ll make small changes to the team to ensure our main players can get the rest they need before the game against Sarawak on Friday.

“I have a balanced group of players and it doesn’t matter whether they are the main 11 or a sub, all of them possess great quality and it’ll be easy for me to make the changes necessary for the Super League and Malaysia Cup,” he told Harian Metro.
