“Khairul Idham needs financial assistance”

National Moto3 racer, Khairul Idham Pawi looked like a jubilant figure celebrating his impressive German Gran Prix win, but he has to quickly shift his attention back to a financial issue faced by his family.

His father, Pawi Omar has disclosed that he’s been forced to fork out his own savings to hire an officer to supervise Khairul during his racing trips.

According to Pawi, he has to spend RM10,000 to RM15,000 for his son’s general expenses and the hiring of the supervising officer.

“This figure doesn’t include air tickets and other expenses. This has forced me to sell my livestock as I have finished my savings.

“I hope there’ll be a willing party who will sponsor the cost for the escort officer. This is very important for my son to further his career,” he said, as quoted by Utusan Online.

Pawi needs an additional RM200,000 as Khairul still has nine more races to compete for the remainder of the year.

“Keon (Khairul’s nickname) has proved himself on the international stage, so now is the time for us to share the cost of success,” he added.
