“They have effectively killed our season” – Kuantan FA laments Zulhamizan’s ban

Kuantan FA’s season might be in tatters after Football Association of Malaysia’s (FAM) disciplinary committee announced that they will uphold head coach, Zulhamizan Zakaria’s seven-month ban.

Team manager, Wan Solihi Wan Hassan said FAM’s decision will cause the club many difficulties as they prepare for the crucial phase of this season’s Premier League.

“We are disappointed with FAM’s cold-hearted approach even though Zulhamizan has made several appeals.

“The club is also a victim in this case because we have to go through the remainder of the Premier League without a coach.

“What kind of rules or regulation that FAM is enforcing until they are willing to suspend Zulhamizan for seven months? This means he can’t do his job till the end of the season and it effectively has killed his career,” he told Berita Harian.

Wan Solihi is also disputing the way FAM held its hearing for the case since there wasn’t any concrete evidence provided besides the match official’s report.

“We are definitely not satisfied with the committee’s approach in denying Zulhamizan a chance to give a statement before they announced their decision on March.

“Don’t kill the club’s future as we have done our part in making the league a lively one and we are not financially strong. We can only compete well with other teams due to the passion that we have,” he said.

Zulhamizan was slapped with a RM3,000 fine and a seven-month suspension on March after he was found guilty of using offensive language during Kuantan’s match against UiTM FC and Perak.
