8 sporting icons who supported Donald Trump and confessed to it

So the USA officially has a new president… *drum roll* Mr. Donald Trump!

The results have pretty much shaken the whole world, Malaysia included, so we decided to look back on some sports icons and athletes who supported the real estate mogul-turned-reality television star-turned-President of the United States.

Yes, the former American boxer Mike Tyson one of Mr. Trump’s strongest supporters. Tyson was quoted as saying that “He [Trump] should be president of the United States. Let’s try something new. Let’s run America like a business, where no colors matter. Whoever can do the job, gets the job.”

“When I see him, he shakes my hand and respects my family. None of them- Barack [Obama], whoever – nobody else does that. They’re gonna be who they are and disregard me, my family.” the former boxer added.

Although he didn’t directly endorse Trump, Hulk Hogan made it pretty clear in a interview with TMZ back in 2015 that we wanted to be Donald Trump’s vice president.

When asked which candidate he’d take on in a match, he confessed, “I don’t want to be in the ring with any candidates, I want to be Trump’s running mate.” Well, that does seem much more plausible now..

“If Donald Trump were to ask me to be his running mate,” 65-year old Jesse Ventura told CBS news.

“I would give it very serious consideration because anything to break up the status quo of this country. This country needs to be shaken up. It needs to be shaken to its very core, and Donald Trump is doing that.” the wrestler said.

American footballer Tom Brady is actually on the fence with this one. Although he once said that he hoped Trump would get elected, he also said that he doesn’t ‘endorse’ Trump. The 29-year old NFL player also refused to answer a question about Trump during a press conference.

One of Trump’s proudest fans. Don King thinks of Trump as someone who is fearless, courageous and brave. He believes that only someone like Trump can “take this system apart” and “create a whole new system”.

King urged black voters to vote for Donald Trump when he made an appearance at an Ohio church with Donald Trump, and he also stirred up a controversy when he used the ‘N’ word to introduce the billionaire.
