Asia’s best Farah Ayuni returns to national hockey team

Malaysia’s national hockey player, Farah Ayuni is back from her police training, and the national team can breathe a sigh of relief.

The national hockey team are preparing for the second round of Hockey World League this coming 14th January until 22nd January 2017, and they couldn’t possibly do it without their best goalkeeper.

The 28-year old just returned to the national squad a few days back after completing a basic police course, something she had to fulfil as a member of Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM). Now she’s back training with the national team, and needs to get back into momentum in just a couple of weeks.

“I’ll be lying if I said I’m not pressured or nervous. I have to prove a lot in this round, especially that my performance is better and improving.” she told Harian Metro.

“What I’m going to do immediately is to asses myself, my performance, and watch videos of opponents to analyse their tactics.”

“I hope I can do the best for my country.” Farah added.

Farah Ayuni was awarded Best Asian Goalkeeper last October, during the Asian Champions Trophy 2016 in Singapore.
