Malaysian Tigresses to be rewarded for Hockey World League performance

Malaysia Hockey Confederation (MHC) have confirmed that they’ll be rewarding Malaysia women’s hockey team following their astounding performance in the recently concluded FIH Hockey World League 2nd round.

Malaysia finished as runners-up after losing to Ireland 3-0 in the final, but it was enough for them to qualify for the semi-finals.

“It’s confirmed that they will be given a reward for their efforts, which was nothing short of historic,” said Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal, the MHC President.

The amount however, is not yet confirmed as Subahan is yet to discuss with MHC’s Executive Board. That said, Subahan also said that Malaysia should not get too carried away with the result.

“We should applaud the players, however it doesn’t mean we should be too jubilant about it; but I feel this is a result that has made Malaysia proud,” he added.

Malaysia will be headed to either Belgium or South Africa for the FIH Hockey World League semi-finals.
