“It was ugly” – Weigang rips into players despite win over Melaka United

Despite winning against Melaka United last Saturday, Perak head coach Karl Heinz Weigang was still not pleased with his side.

Perak won 3-2 against the newly-promoted side thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Vadislav Mirchev, but Weigang was unhappy over the team’s performances in that match and described it as ‘not playing football’.

“It was an ugly football match. Losing control, making mistakes here and there, allowing the opposition to score goals. I hope to watch a recording of the match (to see what happened). A lot of players no longer can escape,” Weigang told reporters in a press conference after the match.

“This is not football. Football is ball possession, precise passing moving here and there at every time. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen. The players only stood still and hope for a long ball,”

Weigang is sure that the fans are happy with win, but he reiterated his disappointment over the team.

Perak will next face PKNS FC away this Saturday where the latter won a topsy-turvy match against Selangor 5-3.
