Johor DT vs Selangor: Youthful Red Giants eyeing three points in Larkin

P. Maniam’s boys will be travelling down south tomorrow to face Johor Darul Ta’zim at the Larkin stadium for their match week 4 fixture. And they are prepared to bag their 3 points.

Selangor FA’s team manager Abdul Rauf Ahmad is positive that the Red Giants can take on the Southern Tigers even though it is an away fixture. With players like Francis Forkey Doe, Adam Nor Azlin and Syahmi Safari bolstering the squad, Abdul Rauf Ahmad thinks Selangor will put up a good fight.

“I’m proud of what the boys have achieved so far, and impressed by their level of commitments, especially by the young players like Adam and Syahmi. There are a few more President Cup players who will be featured in the main squad.” he explained.

“We’re also satisfied with all our import players, especially Francis Forkey Doe who has been quite consistent and is a very hardworking player. I have spoken to Maniam and we will be bringing down all four import players for the match against JDT.” he added.

Although the Southern Tigers just got back from Asian Champions League playoffs in Japan –a feat that no other Malaysian football club has achieved– they have not been entirely invincible in the Super League.

JDT lost their opening charity shield match against northern side Kedah 1-1 (3-4 in penalties), although they did make a comeback during their clash against Felda by demolishing them 3-1 at home.

Abdul Rauf Ahmad also added that the Southern Tigers might be a tad dispirited and still exhausted from their 0-3 loss against Gamba Osaka, and it might affect their performance on the pitch.

This is turn is a motivation for the Red Giants to secure a win, which is much needed for Selangor, especially after losing to PKNS 5-3 in an away fixture last week.
