“Don’t be nervous” – Frost tells shuttlers ahead of Asia Mixed Team Championship

Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) technical director Morten Frost hopes the national players do not have a ‘give-up attitude’ once the Asia Mixed Team Championships kicks-off tomorrow.

Frost also hopes the team will have self-confidence and mental strength to help getting through close matches and warns about fear and other negative emotions that will derail their chances.

“I believe the team this time is more mature and ready for this tournament. What is important is don’t get nervous when facing respective opponents,” Frost told Sinar Harian.

Malaysia is seeded fourth and is drawn with Indonesia and Sri Lanka in Group B where Frost commented that the national team has a ‘good draw’ and the fact Indonesia is in the same group.

“It is because the top two teams will qualify for the knock-out stage, therefore, we will be avoiding each other (In the knockout stages),” Frost explained further.

The Asia Mixed Team Championships is taking place in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam from 14-19 February.
