2017 Swiss Open – All fixtures involving Malaysian shuttlers

The annual Swiss Open badminton tournament is back, and it is kicking off today!

While we’re still reeling in from the excitement that Datuk Lee Chong Wei was crowned overall champion and bagged his 4th All England title, it’s time to shift our focus to the 2017 Swiss Open.

Here are the fixtures involving all Malaysian shuttlers in the tournament.

First up in the mixed doubles category, we have Malaysia’s Sannatasah Saniru joining forces with Bulgaria’s Alex Vlaar to take on Germany’s Jones Ralfy Jansen and Franziska Volkmann.

If you remember, Sannatasah Saniru was one of the first Malaysian representative who successfully advanced into the next round of the Yonex All England, with her partner Nadia Fankhauser from Switzerland.

The Malaysian-Swiss duo defeated India’s Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy 21-15, 18-21, 21-18 to make the first round.

Match time: 6.45 pm (MYT)

In the womens’ singles category, Malaysia’s Yap Rui Chen will go up against Sonja Pekkola from Finland.

Match time: 7.20 pm (MYT)

Mens’ doubles fixture will see Malaysia’s Tan Boon Heong who is teaming up with Indonesia’s Hendra Setiawan to face Titon Gustaman and Stilian Makarski.

Also in the mens’ doubles category are Malaysia’s Mohd Razif Abdul Latif – Muhammad Hafiz Hashim. The duo will take on France’s Vandal Heriau – Florent Riancho.

Match time: 8.55 pm (MYT)

In the mens’ singles fixture, Malaysia’s Goh Giap Chin will be facing Germany’s Lars Schaenzler.
