#FACup: Terengganu to face Sarawak without 6 key players

The first round of FA Cup quarter finals will be happening this Saturday on the 1st of April with a total of four fixtures.

Pahang is taking on Johor Darul Ta’zim at the Darul Makmur Stadium, Sabah will be facing Premier League leaders Negeri Sembilan at the Likas Stadium, while Super League leaders Kedah will take on PKNP FC at the Darul Aman Stadium.

Another fixture will see Terengganu taking on Sarawak at the Stadium Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah in Kuala Terengganu.

Based on the stats this season, it looks like the turtles may stand a good chance of beating Sarawak. Terengganu has won three out of their last five matches, and are currently in second place on the Premier League table, whereas Sarawak has won only two out of their last five games and are in the Super League’s danger zone.

However, it looks like Crocs may just be able to outclass Terengganu this time around,  considering that the Turtles will be without at least six of their first choice players.

Team captain Latiff Suhaimi, defender Izuan Jarudin, midfielder K. Parthiban, and first-choice goalkeeper Amierul Hakimi Awang are all still out due to injury. To make things worse, Issey Nakajima Farran and Firdaus Faudzi are also out due to suspension.

No one is more worried about this predicament than Terengganu’s head coach, Irfan Bakti Abu Salim.

“I will have to wait and see how the situation is like with the four injured players. If they don’t recover in time, we don’t have a choice but to use substitutes.” Irfan explained to Metro.
“I’m sure the reserve players can step up and shoulder the responsibility, it’s an important game and we need to make sure we win, especially since it’s a home game.
However, it’s not all doom and gloom for Terengganu. Even without those six players, Irfan can still fall back on his import players. He has defender Lazaro Vinicius from Brazil, midfielder Lutfulla Turaev from Uzbekistan, and Federico Falcone to play up front and bring in the goals to secure a win for the team.
