“We got this” – Wan Azraie speaks about Pahang v JDT FA Cup fixture

The first round of FA Cup quarter finals will be happening this Saturday on the 1st of April.

A rejuvenated Pahang taking on third-placed Johor Darul Ta’zim at the Darul Makmur Stadium will be probably be the most exciting match to watch this weekend.

Pahang’s side will be making the most out of the home ground advantage to destroy the Southern Tigers, and Johor Darul Ta’zim will also put up a tough fight to keep their winning streak going.

According to Pahang’s goalkeeper, Wan Azraie Wan Teh, Pahang’s biggest concern at the moment is conceding goals. Pahang lost 2-3 to JDT at the Larkin in a Super League fixture earlier this month, and the Pahang goalkeeper wants to make sure that does not happen at the Darul Makmur stadium. Not under his watch.

“We need to secure a 2-0 win at the very least, before we head over to the Larkin for the second leg.” Wan Azraie said.

“Our 2-3 defeat at the Larkin should not be the measure for Pahang’s reputation. I think we’re better prepared now to take on the Tigers, especially since we’re playing at home and we have support from the fans.”

“JDT has a very strong attack line and they will try every way possible to score as many goals. Our job is to stop that from happening.” he added.

“I think as long as the team give their best performance and don’t let JDT dominate the game, we have a chance to go the finals.”

Pahang’s team Datuk Che Nasir Salleh also reminded his players not to be intimidated by Johor Darul Ta’zim. He has solid faith and confidence in the head coach, the players, and the fans, and he believes Pahang can win.

“I believe in head coach Dollah Salleh, and I think Pahang will win this match before facing Johor in the second leg.” he said.

Other FA cup fixtures will see Sabah facing Premier League leaders Negeri Sembilan at the Likas Stadium, Super League leaders Kedah will take on PKNP FC at the Darul Aman Stadium, and Terengganu will go up against Sarawak at the Stadium Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah in Kuala Terengganu.
