EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: Azizulhasni Awang the first to ride at the Nilai National Velodrome

Last Thursday, national track cyclist Azizulhasni Awang realised his life-long of dream of being crowned world champion after the finished first at the 2017 Track Cycling World Championships in Hong Kong.

The keirin world champion also donned the rainbow jersey after he outclassed Colombia’s Fabian Puerta Zapata and Czech Republic’s Tomas Babek to clinch the gold medal.

Upon his return to Malaysia, Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin promised that Azizul will be given the honour to be the first cyclist to ride in the recently completed National Velodrome in Nilai.

Azizul obliged, and he led a group of track cyclist to test out the track at the National Velodrome yesterday.

Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin was also present at the momentous occasion.

Azizulhasni Awang will be in action at the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games that will be happening from the 19th of August until 31st of August. The world keirin champion is also gunning for a gold medal, and it is very likely he’ll make it happen!
