“I don’t understand why FAM suspended Sumareh” – Dollah Salleh

Pahang’s key figure, Mohamadou Sumareh, will miss Pahang’s FA Cup clash against Negeri Sembilan on the 30th April.

Sumareh is suspended by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) for misconduct during Pahang’s FA Cup clash against Johor Darul Ta’zim last Sunday.

However, Pahang’s head coach Dollah Salleh has expressed that he is not happy with the suspension of his Gambian forward.

According to Dollah Salleh, the suspension is illogical and he doesn’t get what Mohamadou Sumareh did wrong. In fact, Dollah Salleh thinks that Sumareh was merely a victim of the situation

“I honestly don’t know what Sumareh did wrong, and why was he suspended.” Dollah Salleh vented at the press conference after the Pahang v FELDA fixture.

“I’ve watched the match video. How come the referee did not even give him a card – but then FAM steps in and suspends him for misconduct. How is that logic?” BHarian quoted him as saying.

“I’m not happy about his suspension. Why should someone who did not commit any wrongdoing be punished?”

Dollah Salleh also said the FAM owes them an explanation for suspending an innocent player who did not do anything wrong.

A few days back, Datuk Baljit Singh Sidhu from the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) announced that five Super League players will face match suspension.

The five players are Afiq Fazail from Johor Darul Ta’zim, Nazmi Faiz from Johor Darul Ta’zim, Kedah’s Mohd Rizal Ghazali, T-Team’s Fakhrurazi Musa, Pahang’s star player Mohamadou Sumareh.

The five players will face suspension due to “striking” their opponents during a match, and warnings have been issued towards players who failed to maintain their conduct on the pitch.

Each of the players will be suspended for one match and fined RM3,000.
