VIDEO: Dani Alves’ volley against Monaco is a jaw-dropper

Juventus outclassed Monaco yet again in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

The Italian club won 2-1 (4-1 on aggregate), crushing Monaco’s dreams of advancing any further, thanks to two first half goals from Mario Manzukic and Dani Alves.

Juventus were already leading in the first half after a brilliant strike from Manzukic on the 33rd minute.

However, it was Dani Alves’ volley close to halftime that stole the spotlight and sent social media users into a frenzy.

Here’s what happened:

Juventus were awarded a corner on the 43rd minute. As the ball entered the box, Monaco’s goalkeeper Danijel Subasic punches it away, thinking he got the ball out of the danger zone.

The ball flew above Monaco’s defence and landed just at Dani Alves’ feet who rushed forward and was unmarked in the centre.

The 34-year-old defender did not let the ball hit the turf, he immediately strikes the ball with a powerful right-footed shot, past Monaco’s defence, and into the back of the net.

There was nothing Subasic – or Monaco’s defenders could have done to stop that cracking volley from Alves.
