Kedah is an elite team, I may not be good enough for head coach position

Last Saturday, Kedah demolished Terengganu in the FA Cup semi-finals 4-0 on aggregate.

Goals from Liridon Krasniqi, Ken Ilso, and Sandro sealed the Red Eagles’ victory as they successfully soared to the FA Cup final, where they will face Pahang.

Kedah’s form was in question after the resignation of their former, award-winning head coach, Tan Cheng Hoe, but they have silenced their critics. Under interim coach, Mohd Nidzam Adha, the Red Eagles are still adhering to their winning ways.

Under Nidzam Adha, the Red Eagles have recorded two wins out of three matches played.

But the question remains – who will be appointed as Kedah’s new head coach? Would it be someone different, or will Nidzam Adha step up as head coach?

According to Nidzam Adha though, Kedah is an elite team that needs a coach who can carry on Tan Cheng Hoe’s legacy.

“If I’m offered the job as head coach, I will have to think carefully about it. Kedah is an elite team, I think they need a high-profile coach, a big name in the industry.” Nidzam Adha told Sinar Harian.

“But of course, I’m willing to take up the challenge, but it won’t be easy.” the coach added.

As of now, Nidzam Adha said his priority is the FA Cup final. He’s not too worried about his position in the club, or about who will be appointed Kedah’s next head coach.

“I still have a lot of work to do. I need to carry on Tan Cheng Hoe’s efforts and legacy. He’s already done all the work – I just need to keep it going.” he explained.

“The most important thing right now is 20th May, the FA Cup final. I hope we come back with a win.”

This is Kedah’s fifth FA Cup final, they have won the FA Cup three times before in 1996, 2007, and 2008.

Will the Red Eagles lift the FA cup trophy for the fourth time?
