Kedah players to receive RM20,000 reward for FA Cup win

Kedah recorded their fourth FA Cup win last Saturday when they defeated Pahang 3-2 at the Shah Alam Stadium.

Goals by Ken Ilso and Baddrol Bakhtiar helped the Red Eagles to seal the win in a dramatic final and take the FA Cup home. Some even took it to bed.

As a result, each Kedah player has been promised a RM 20,000 reward by the Kedah Football Association (KFA) president Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah. The reward will be given to players before Ramadan.

KFA will also announce a date to celebrate Kedah’s victory and to hold the presentation of the incentive in appreciation of their player’s hard work and resilience.

“God willing, we are planning to hold the ceremony to celebrate the victory with the Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah before the start of the fasting month.” Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah told Bernama.

“We are still considering a suitable date and want the celebration and disbursement of the reward.” the president added.

In a pre-match press conference, KFA General Manager Datuk Jeffrey Low confirmed that interim coach Nidzam Adzha will stay on as the caretaker head coach until the end of the season.

Datuk Jeffrey Low promised to “figure something out” for the former Kedah player if Kedah lift the FA Cup on Saturday.

“The management and the players are very comfortable with him. So there’s no reason why to we should get another person to replace him,” said Jeffrey, who added that Nidzam still has another year left in his contract.
