PKNS to replace Safee with Ronaldinho and Hadwa for JDT clash

Due to a clause in his contract that prevents Safee Sali from playing against his former club, the prolific striker will be sitting out the match against Johor Darul Ta’zim once again.

PKNS FC is scheduled to play against Johor Darul Ta’zim on 24th of May, at the Stadium Shah Alam. Safee Sali missed the last PKNS – JDT clash on April 15, where the Southern Tigers defeated the Red Ants 2-1.

However, according to PKNS FC team manager Mahfizul Rusydin, their head coach E. Elavarasan already has some other tactical plans to make up for the absence of the 33-year-old player tomorrow.

“In our match against JDT tomorrow, we will start with a different set of players, a different starting XI from the one at the Kedah match.” Mahfizul Rusydin told Bharian.

“I believe our head coach Elavarasan has got his own plans, he will know how to pick a replacement for Safee.”

“But of course, Safee’s absence will be felt. We will try our best to use our next best opitions, like Patrick Ronaldinho or Nicolas Hadwa.”

Mahfizul Rusydin also reminded his players that they are in need of more points. PKNS FC are currently in 9th place in the Super League table, with a total of 11 points after 12 matches played.

“JDT is a strong team, and we will have to work extra hard to secure a win.” he added. “They’re still fresh from victory after defeating Ceres 3-2 at the AFC Cup fixture.”
