Beware Penang, Bako will be starting for Kelantan tomorrow

Penang will be making their way to the Stadium Sultan Muhammad IV to face The Red Warriors, who are armed with a new secret weapon.

Kelantan’s new star striker, Abou Bakr Al-Mel, is fit and ready for their next Super League fixture against Penang, which will be happening tomorrow night (May 24).

Abou Bakr Al-Mel, also known as Bako, has an impressive track record with his former club, Tripoli, where he scored 16 goals in 20 matches played. Apart from that, he was also crowned as the Best Player in the 2017 Lebanon Premier League.

The 24-year-old is comfortable playing as centre forward, although he can play as a winger whenever required.

Young and full of energy, the Lebanese “Messi” is ready for his first match in the Super League.

“I do feel a bit pressured, because I know the fans and probably the Kelantan players will expect me to be on par with former striker Mohamed Ghaddar.” Bako told Sinar Harian.

“I can only promise to give my best tomorrow night.” he added.

Apart from that, Bako said that he has passed all the fitness tests and had no problems with the training regime. The only problem he’s facing at the moment is communication problems.

“I’ve been here for week, and the only problem I’ve had so far is communicating with my team mates.” Bake confessed.

“Everyone is very helpful, they try their hardest to help me out and to understand me, to make me feel at home.”

Kelantan are currently sitting on the 7th place with 13 points in the Super League table, after 12 matches played. They were docked 6 points early in May for failing to pay up pending salaries to former players and coaches.
