JDT’s goal was based on luck, says PKNS captain Fauzan Dzulkifli

PKNS FC suffered a 1-0 loss last night to Johor Darul Ta’zim at the Shah Alam stadium.

This marks the second time that The Red Ants have succumbed to The Southern Tigers. In their previous meeting (15 April), Johor Darul Ta’zim destroyed PKNS 2-1, thanks to an own goal by Jadue Gonzalez and a well-taken penalty by Safiq Rahim.

Although PKNS had some good chances to score, Johor’s defence, led by Marcos Antonio was just too much for them to penetrate. Ronaldinho Wleh and Hadwa’s team work created many good opportunities, but none if it was converted into a goal.

Johor struck in the 77th minute, when Amirulhadi thrusted in a cross from new teammate Mohammed Ghaddar.

However, PKNS captain Fauzan Dzulkifli does not think that Johor is too good for them. In fact, he insists that their goal was purely based on luck.

“I think JDT just got lucky. Their goal was based on luck, not build up.” the captain said during the post-match interview.

“We had a lot of good chances as well, of course we defended more, but we also attacked, but it was not enough. But we will keep working hard to improve.” he added.

Meanwhile, PKNS head coach E.Elavarasan did not appear to be upset with his team’s performance.

“I can promise, we are going to get better. We had to rely on two import players up front, and that wasn’t enough. There is a lot of room for improvement. We are going to work those areas, and we will be better after the break.” he said.

Johor Darul Ta’zim continue to enjoy their first place in the Super League table with 30 points. PKNS, on the other hand, are edging closer to the relegation zone at 9th place with 11 points.
