Kelantan Football Association have announced the signing of French forward L’Imam Seydi.
The 32 year-old Paris-born player arrived in Kota Bharu this week and is required to go through a number of medical and fitness tests before being unveiled as a Kelantan player.
According to Tan Sri Annuar Musa, who is currently the advisor for the state association, L’Imam Seydi was brought in to replace Brazilian striker Alessandro Celin. He is the direct replacement for Mohammed Ghaddar, whereas Abou Bakr will play behind the French player.
Annuar Musa also said that L’Imam Seydi will travel back to Paris to spend time with his family before returning to Kelantan with Abou Bakr (back from international duties).
On a side note, the state association have agreed to retain the services of head coach Zahasmi Ismail, as he will be assisted by technical director Alfredo Gonzales.
L’Imam Seydi has played football in Slovakia, Hungary, Azerbaijan and Malta.
