Breaking: Paulo Rangel set to sign for Terengganu FA

Brazilian forward Paulo Rangel is set to depart Selangor and sign for East Coast side Terengganu, in what appears to be a shocking move.

The 29 year-old striker has apparently decided to close the Selangor chapter of his career, particularly due to the recent fracas on salary payments, and sign with Terengganu FA, who seem to have made a concrete offer to acquire his services.

Rangel was in sensational form for Selangor this year, though he recently confirmed speculations of salary issues within the Selangor FA management. In his statement, which was released via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter two weeks ago, Rangel claimed that he was not paid for the past two months, and that he was incredibly disappointed with the lack of professionalism within the club.

He then went on to drop an ultimatum, saying that should the salary payment not be completed within one week, he wouldn’t hesitate to look elsewhere for other clubs.

Though Selangor FA rejected his claims via an official statement, it now seems that the conflict has not been resolved in time, with Rangel deciding to depart the Red Giants, and move over to Kuala Terengganu.

The Turtles have often struggled with foreign player selection, and fans were equally frustrated at the departure of Norfarhan Muhammad, after a terrific season. But should this signing be completed, it will provide a massive boost to the dressing rooms, considering that Rangel comes not only with goals, but also plenty of exprerience as far as the Super League is concerned.
